Delusional Idiots???

The comments section of this Union Leader article on the Brown's are filled with negative invective spun against the Browns such as the following:

"Those people in the Brown's "camp" are delusional idiots. When they are ignored by Police and the public they whine and cry about being attacked and do their best to create some dramatic lunacy about being "picked on". I wish they'd be attacked by common sense but that's a waste of a wish. That's somethin neither the Brown's nor their "supporters" have. It would be nice if the outsiders who pander to the Brown's need to appear as victims would go back where they came from. New Hampshire does NOT need them."
- Alan Yates, cONCORD

We posted one response/comment which has yet to appear in the comments section of this article as follows:

Delusional idiots?

The Browns have offered to pay all their "taxes", but the Federal government refuses to show them the law that requires them to file and pay....

First....."At the heart of Brown's protest is the Courts failure, in denying Browns substantive and dispositive pre-trial motions, to properly respond to the questions and issues that were presented to the Court in the motions that is, the Court's failure to state the facts and the questions being presented by Brown, the law and how the Court was applying the law to answer the questions."

Second....Tom Cryer, an attorney from Louisiana, recently won a case against the IRS which your publication has yet to report on. See...

http://questforfairtrialinconcordnh.blogspot.com/2007/07/attorney-tom-cryer-wins-against-irs.html

Third....Tom Cryer and Ed and Elaine Brown are among millions of Americans who have asked the question "Show Me The Law" and to date the government has responded with stone/cold silence. 2000+ individuals filed a lawsuit against the US Goverment on July 19, 2004 in an effort to compel the government to admit that We The People are the Masters over our servant government - and this is expressed in the limitation imposed by the last 10 words in the 1st amendment to our Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

"....AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES." One could argue that these are 10 of the most powerful words in the bill of rights.

Tom Cryer, Ed and Elaine Brown and millions of Americans have repeatedly "petitioned the government for a redress of grievances" regarding questions about the taxing powers of Congress related to the administration of the Federal income tax.

The government remains silent on this issue. It has taken the position that it does not have to answer questions from We The People concerning Constitutional torts. During the first 60-70 years of our country's history governments at all levels treated petitions from individuals - across all range of issues - with respect by answering each and every one.

Here's a write up on the formal record of the petitioning process over this and other issues involving Constitutional torts conducted by We The People Foundation/Congress since 1999:

If you would like to learn more about this issue and the petitioning process, I would highly recommend that you view the movie by Aaron Russo, America: Freedom To Fascism by visiting this link:

There are many sites that have covered this issue, but if you want to learn more about attorney Tom Cryer's case and recent win against the IRS please visit:

Casey Lee Cobb's Report On July 29, 2007 12:22 pm

Status Report: SNAFU

Casey Lee Cobb | Show The Law | July 29, 2007 12:22 CDT

The threat level at the Brown’s has been reduced from Red alert to High Alert; daylight is now working for the side of justice and truth. As you all know in the early hours this morning our fellow patriot Danny Riley has been reporting for us all night long via a couple of honorable radio stations; “Truth Or Lies” and “We The People Radio Network” also I wanted to send a very special thank you to Torin Wolf from the ‘Wolf At Your Door’ for reporting on this all night long live with Danny Riley.

Here is a short recap of the evening events
At 20:35:46 PDT a distress signal was sent via email from Danny Riley, this message was sent to many patriots in the Infowar it reads as follows:

30 to 40 rounds fired behind the house noise heard in the woods everyone is at battle stations this is not a drill I repeat this is not a drill. Danny

Patriotic Americans responded to this message by contacting Danny via cell phone and putting him on air immediately and without hesitation. Major events and activities of the night include agent provocateurs, firing 30-40 rounds in the vicinity of the Browns, and physically shaking the trailer of one of Ed’s supporters in attempts to spur return fire to be used as an excuse for a use of force.

Local law enforcement TREASONASLY stood down similar to NORAD on 911; they repeatedly refused to acknowledge that they were the recipients of the hundreds of phone calls that were pouring in reporting the criminal activity being perpetrated at the Browns.

Situation is still on high alert, if you are a patriot in the Infowar, or a patriot of the organized, or unorganized militias of the 50 states of the union. I highly recommend that you man your posts vigilantly.

The status change from Red Alert to high alert merely means that we have no daylight time to spare. In several hours, we may possibly come face to face with the hired mercenaries that have been assigned the mission of assassinating this elderly couple in the tax honesty movement, who merely want government to respond lawfully, by showing them the law. More On The Browns

Okay,,, Here's the latest on the Brown's.. It's now 9:00am, Sunday morning. I just got off the phone with my friend, Danny Romero. He the owner\operator of "We The People Radio Network" . I actually woke him up. He had been up all night broadcasting live with Ed and Elaine Brown. As I understand it, 30 to 40 shots were fired from behind the Brown's house, in the woods. A trailer at the top of the hill was shaken and rocked, appearing to just be harassment. Danny put out the local police agencies phone numbers, and I'm told they were inundated with calls. Currently no one has stepped forward to take responsibility for the shots fired.

It's being evaluated at this time, but it looks as though the Feds were "testing the water" to see what type of response they might get. Danny told me, all is calm right now. People have again returned to the Brown's home to offer there support. Danny has made arraignments with Ed Brown, that as soon, or if anything does happen, his network will immediately cut in and broadcast it live. I will continue to monitor this to the best of my ability, but I would suggest everyone check in to www.wtprn.com often, to check for any breaking news.

The Browns latest news!

Here's some new I just received from my friend Art. He's been very involved and up to date with the going ons at the Brown's.

Hello, I was just informed that the next event at Ed and Elaine Browns "may be" the weekend of Sept.3 (Labor Day) which would give everyone a 3 day weekend for the trip up and back.

It is my opinion, for whatever it's worth, that we can either hang together or we assuredly we will hang separately. They are going to take us out one at a time. You see it happening all over the country. Bush's new E.O. about seizing assets of anyone interfering with the war efforts.

The Browns we're fired on last night, that to is all over the net today. I talked to Danny Riley this morning and it is true.

My point to all of this, is why not set your plans to go to the Browns that weekend and help give the biggest (up your's) to these corrupt bastards the world has ever seen. The Browns have committed no crime, you know it and I know it. Why should they be treated like terrorist?

I'm tired of people that do a lot of talking, but never back it up with any actions. In my opinion, people that do that are no better than the people that just don't want to know the truth. I hate to use these words, as Bush said, you're either with us or your against us. I have talked to a lot of people that agree, we should blanket the area around Ed's house with Freedom to Fascism Dvd's.
I gave one to a lady that saw my "I support Ed and Elaine Brown" button and said she liked my button. We had a very nice conversation about taxes and the Browns. People are afraid. We need to help them overcome that fear by sharing the truth with them. God knows the press won't do it.

It would be great if 1000's of people showed up for the next event. It's now or later, but either way, it's coming and we are not going to stop it.

Ron Paul, bless his heart, is a good man with a heart of gold, who really cares for this country and the people in it. I just don't know if the system is going to let him take control, although I pray a lot that if it is meant to be, please let him make it into office. Thats all I will say on that, because I don't have my crystal ball back from the shop yet.

Please join us that weekend, you will be surrounded by good people of faith, who understand the
oppositions we face. I can't think of a better way to spend that weekend.Let others know and maybe share expenses to get there.

No excuses. I will keep you posted as when the date is firmly set.

If you disagree with my opinions, that is yours to do. I do see things a little different than most.
Don't let it keep you from joining us this Saturday night for a special conference call.

Art and Family

Here's the latest on the Brown's..

I just received this from my good friends, the Flynn's. I wanted to share with all of you, the paperwork they've done for the Brown's

Dear Mike,

We were first apprised of the situation at the Browns at sometime around 2:30 am, today, followed by another one around 3:30 am. We do not know how many people were present at the Browns' home when this occurred, but obviously, this appears to be a show of force by the feds. As many supporters as possible should try to make their way to the Browns at this crucial time to show the feds that the American People will not be intimidated by these Nazi-style tactics, obviously intended to scatter the Browns' supporters, further isolate the Browns and alarm their local neighborhoods.

As you may know, after the Los Angeles seminar, we traveled to and met with the Browns, and did a live radio program from their home with them and with Randy Weaver, who had arrived in New Hampshire the previous day. The show was broadcast over truthradio.com' s Higher Ground Live, with Pastor Massad as the host, and on re-broadcast, we understand that it reached approximately 5 to 6 million people. At the Browns' home, we also met your friend, Danny Romero, of the We, the People Network, and we had previously spoken with him several times when he worked with John Stadtmiller.

Attached are a Writ of Remonstrance and language in support of a pardon that was birthed at that L.A. seminar and should be exposed to as many people as possible, who, in turn, should do the following:

1. Submit these documents to their own congressional delegation, in support of the Browns;

2. Send these documents to the New Hampshire governor, A.G. and the N.H. congressional delegation, as well as other politicians in N.H. to demonstrate that the Browns have the support of hopefully millions of Americans across this Nation.

The People who send the documents should also state in their own letters to these congressional delegations:

The Browns are patriotic American Citizens who are simply claiming and exercising their Constitutional Rights, which cannot be converted into a crime. However, that is exactly what the govt is doing, and apparently, now, is using military-style force and weapons to prevent Citizens from claiming and exercising their Constitutional Rights. This is not what America, theoretically, stands for. Therefore, congressmen/women, senators, and other public officers, take heed of the documents presented to you, uphold your oath and the Rights guaranteed to the American People, including the Browns, and use your authority to stop military attacks upon the Browns and other Americans for claiming their Rights guaranteed in the Constitution. Remember, this standard was adopted at Nuremburg: One does not have to obey an unlawful order, and in this country, that means an unconstitutional order, such as the one(s) upon which these military style forces are acting.

For your information, (and this is also to the congressmen, etc.) the Browns have stated that they will pay any tax for which they are lawfully liable, provided the govt produces the Constitutionally compliant, valid and existing law, specific to the Bill of Rights, which requires that payment. All this military nonsense is unnecessary. The only thing that is necessary is for the govt to produce that valid, existing law, as stated above, which the govt has refused to do. Therefore, it would appear that not only is the govt attacking the Browns with military force for claiming their Rights, but also, upholding "laws" that do not exist. This is not what America was designed to be and it is your direct responsibility as a public servant to intervene and support the Constitution and not act in opposition to it or allow the govt to do so, with Nazi style tactics directed at harming and intimidating the People for whom you work.

Mike, the only way that this nonsense is going to stop, at least lawfully, is for millions of American Citizens all over the country to get in touch with their own congressional delegations with either these documents, other documents, emails, letters, phone calls, etc. expressing their outrage at the govt's unlawful actions - shades of Ruby Ridge and Waco - and their support for their fellow Citizens, the Browns.

On another note, during the LA seminar, you mentioned that you would like to put together a seminar in the Fresno area. We sent you some information regarding how the local area coordinator of the seminar can promote and organize the seminar. Margy and I have taken the summer off, at least from seminar travels, as we need the rest and to catch up on work. We are starting again in September with a seminar in Eastern Oregon on the 15th and 16th. Let us know if you are serious about organizing one in your area. I (Margy) will resend the info to you, as I know how easy it is to miss or waylay something, when one gets many emails, as I am sure you do, Mike.

When you see or talk to Danny Romero, please give him our very best.

By the way, Mike, you asked us if would be willing to speak at some event in September. If you have gotten back to us by email, I have not seen, as our email accounts are chock full, at the moment, and it is nearly impossible for me to read everything that comes in. Can you please call us to discuss what, if anything, is going on with this situation? I don't recall your giving me a specific date or anything, so I hope our upcoming Oregon seminar does not conflict. Let me know. Thanks.

Best regards,

Jack and Margy

Sullivan County Sheriff: 603-863-4200

* WMUR News is not going to cover this story, because the Police are Stonewalling and will not confirm the reports of Gunfire. Call them up and demand that they cover this issue! 1-800-257-5151

* Federal Agents have been physically shaking the Trailer of one of Ed’s supporters in order to attempt to provocateur return fire from the Brown’s supporters to be used as a pretext to use force.

Get to the Browns house now!

If you are unable, use this list below, call them and dont stop calling!

Please flood the phones and do not stop till good things start to happen.

1: Sullivan County, NH (Plainfield is located here) Sheriff Michael Prozzo -- 603-863-4200

Please call the sheriff's office and urge him to act under his authority as the supreme law enforcement official in Sullivan County. He is the only elected law enforcement "official" and has the authority to tell the feds to back off. But so far he hasn't done anything but hide from this whole matter. Urge him to do something RIGHT NOW!!!

2: New Hampshire State Governor John Lynch -- 603-271-2121

Please call Gov. Lynch's office right now! They will likely try to skirt the issue and tell you to call the U.S. Marshall's office. Don't let them off the hook! Tell them that the GOVERNOR is supposed to have the authority over New Hampshire -- not the feds!!! Ed does not live on federal land! Ed is not under federal jurisdiction! Plainfield isn't on federal land, the county isn't, and the state isn't. The feds have no business there. The governor could act to stop it and keep the feds out. As with the sheriff, so far he has not!!! Call and tell them HE ABSOLUTELY MUST EXERCISE HIS AUTHORITY AND STOP THE FEDS.

3: The U.S. Marshall's office: 603-225-1632

Please call and tell them they have no authority, no business, and should immediately stop the violent actions they are taking against the Browns. They will likely ask for your name and number -- that's what they asked from me -- you can give it to them if you'd like, or not if you don't want to -- but don't be scared of these guys. Get your message that this should be resolved without the continued use of violence and the threat of violence. Tell them we are watching!

Tax Quotations

Tax Quotations

For some pithy comments about taxes by Vernon Jacobs, see Tax Humor.

The legal right of a taxpayer to decrease the amount of what otherwise would be his taxes, or altogether avoid them, by means which the law permits, cannot be doubted. (U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sutherland, Gregory vs. Helvering, 293 U.S. 465, 1965)
Over and over again courts have said that there is nothing sinister in so arranging one's affairs so as to make taxes as low as possible. Everybody does so, rich or poor, and do right, for nobody owes any public duty to pay more taxes than the law demands. Taxes are enforced exactions, not voluntary contributions. ( Justice Learned Hand, U.S. Supreme Court )

A taxpayer need not arrange its affairs so as to maximize taxes as long as the transaction has a legitimate business purpose. (Judge Cornelio G. Kennedy, sixth Circuit Court Appeals.)

The taxpayer (is) someone who works for the government but doesn't have to take a civil service examination. (Ronald Reagan)

The New Battle Cry of the Second American Revolution

The New Battle Cry of the Second American Revolution: SHOW US THE LAW, SHOW US YOUR JURISDICTION, OR WE SHOW YOU THE JAIL!

By: Raymond Ronald Karczewski©

American's, have you had enough? Do you want to take back your country?

Do you want to live without fear, without confusion, without contradiction?

Do you want your public servants to serve you, not tyrannize you?

Then wake up to the power that you already hold in your hands, the hands of the Sovereign People.

You are the Sovereigns. The Government is your servant. It works for you. Not you for it.

You have been unrelentingly and systematically duped with words -- the Satanic approach of Mind Control. It has accomplished its lawyer-like agenda by using words that are NOT Law, but are based in "Color of Law." -- Corporate policies which masquerade as law.

STOP the confusion which keeps you in fear. Ed and Elaine Brown of Plainfield New Hampshire have shown you the way to Freedom, a return to Sovereignty. Their tactic? They walked out of court, mid-trial. They, in essence, BOYCOTTED the court until the court could produced the law that claimed they, the Browns, must pay income tax. Their demand of "SHOW ME THE LAW" has been unyielding and is growing in momentum throughout our country, especially after jury acquittals of others who have made the same demand -- "SHOW ME THE LAW".

I, Raymond Ronald Karczewski©, have shown you the way in my two bogus Unconstitutional, Administrative Court Trials (Josephine County, Oregon Criminal Court Case Numbers 02CR0617 and 03CR0170), which demanded the courts answer the questions: "SHOW ME YOUR JURISDICTION."

Although the bogus courts convicted me of 7 counts of PAPER TERRORISM, they soon THREW ME OUT OF JAIL. Since and to this day, I continue to do the very same actions which accounted for their bogus convictions, THEY REFUSE TO COME AFTER ME; for if they did, they would have to answer the questions of JURISDICTION, which they have evaded since 2002.

You have seen Justice in these two cases. It does not come from the Corrupt courts of our land, it comes from WE THE PEOPLE.

Ed and Elaine Brown and I have shown that the corporate law of man DOES NOT HAVE THE TEETH IT PURPORTS TO HAVE when it comes to dealing with, or coercively asserting jurisdiction, over Living, Breathing, Flesh-and-Blood, Sentient, Natural Men and Women, Sovereign under God.

Their bluff was called on these two occasions, and these Courts of Mammon were STOPPED COLD IN THEIR SATANIC TRACKS. Lady Justice who stands over, and represents the courts of man is a TOOTHLESS HAG!!

Now it's up to you, the People of America. Do you want to be the Sovereign People you once were, or do you embrace your new status of Corporate Slaves?

Take back your country. Do it Nonviolently. BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT. Back that up with the Resounding Cry heard throughout the Nation: SHOW US THE LAW!1. SHOW US YOUR JURISDICTION!!

If necessary, do it with a gun on your hip. No government can STRIP AWAY your God-given UNALIENABLE RIGHT TO LIFE, which includes self-defense, especially the same government which threatens its own people with hunches of "Terrorist Attacks" and will allow it to declare WAR on the Sovereign People through Martial Law.

Raymond Ronald Karczewski©

Editor's Note: I hope you can somehow tone down some of your other offerings - loosen up the collar. This piece is more focused which is why it was posted.

10 Ways to Build a Cult-Like Following

There are many voices in the world telling you what to believe and how to live. Some are benign and some are malicious. You have to determine which is which for yourself. Some appear benign, however, upon closer scrutiny they are revealed to be as "wolves in sheep's clothing." It is STILL up to YOU to determine the difference. Learning the difference between good and evil, light and dark and the difficult middle ground is part of the maturing process. Some start it and never finish. Others begin and go for awhile until they reach a comfort level and stay there. Some continue on learning and growing until they die. The level of self-revelation, maturity and personal responsibility is up to YOU. The wonderful thing about being an individual (non-legal terminology) is that YOU CAN learn from others and their experiences both good and bad. However, the "trick" is to NOT BE TRICKED by however well intentioned the expert, leader, guru or prophet is. The following is offered for your consideration as a methodology to help you determine if you are being subtly "schnookered." By the way, you will notice that Ron Paul does NONE of these techniques of manipulation.

Hebrews 5:14 But solid food is for the matured, for those who, through their disciplined senses and mental faculties, are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.

Genesis 3:1 "Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made."

10 Ways to Build a Cult-Like Following

By JK Ellis

Author of
Mind Control 101

What steps are there for anyone who wants people to want his/her attention and wisdom?

The result are 10 ways to build a cult-like following. Of course each one of them could be a book in itself but here goes.

1. Initiation vs. Instruction

There is a marked difference between learning by instruction and learning by initiation.

Most people give instruction. This is nothing more than stating facts and teach processes. Any good teacher does that as well as most bad ones.

Learning by initiation is about creating an experience that makes the learning personal and visceral to the student. A good example of that is the 1984 movie “The Karate Kid” . On the one hand you have the macho western karate instructor who taught his students by instruction in a skill 'n' drill process. On the other hand you have the character played by Pat Marito who says that he will teach Ralph Macchios' character karate in exchange for doing chores. But the chores must be done in a certain way “This way wax on. This way wax off.” Only later does the young hero find out that there was a method to his instructors madness and when he figured it out it made complete sense to him as if struck by a lightening bolt.

There are many things that you could simply tell someone and they would intellectually understand but they wouldn't “get it” as an insight. They would only see it as information. The result is that they may use it or they may not.

Teaching by initiation means holding back on simply telling what the student wants to know and instead provide an experience where the student “gets it” on their own.

The subjective experience of the student is that the lesson is much more valuable because 1) they had to work for it and 2) it is felt more personally.

2. Being Accessible

Someone once told me that “There are no long lines for the guru at the bottom of the hill.”

Making yourself scarce adds perceived value but it also distances you from the masses. If you want a cult-like following you need access to the masses otherwise you're just an ivory tower wannabe.

There is an ingenious compromise.

Be accessible as a person but present your knowledge and wisdom as being rare, expensive, mysterious, and only for those who are truly ready for it.

This compromise allows you to build deep personal bonds with people yet have them want more or your presence... as well as be willing to pay for it.

Keep in mind that one cult leader, 2000 years ago, would speak to anyone who would listen but he granted his most sacred attention to his 12 closest disciples.

You can add to this compromise by having “special times” when you are not accessible to anyone. You can tell people that you are meditating, or doing your “spiritual practice” but you don't have to say anything. It's the mystery of why you are absent that you want to cultivate.

3. Imply Secret Knowledge

The role of simply remaining calm and silent will recur again in this essay so I can't understate it. Here is where silence is worth a 1000 words. Saying things like “Hmmm... There are 100 possible solutions to that within your own mind.” and nothing else implies things that you know and that they should know.

4. Remaining calm as if all-knowing

Any sharp change in your emotional state, with the exception of joy and laughter, should be minimized. Any leader/teacher who goes on an angry rant is demonstrating their own lack of control. If you truly have control it should be demonstrated by an unshakable calm as if everything is happening just as you knew it would.

I've always remembered that the scariest martial artist are the ones that don't talk or threaten... they calmly do what they have to do and walk away.

5. Create a detached involvement as if “you” are in a “higher place”

In doing this people will look to you as if there is something more to you than your mere physical presence.

6. Connect deeply with the individual

Here rapport is vital. When you are with people you need to put aside all of your distractions, obligations and problems to focus completely on the person or people you to whom you are speaking.

7. “Chunk Up” whenever possible

This may be a bit abstract to grasp but it's important to creating an appeal because it forces people to think in bigger terms. When you do consistently if gives the impression that you are always thinking bigger than them.

“Chunking Up” is an NLP term that means referring to something that contains what is spoken about as a subset . It can also refer to something that controls or has a larger reach than the topic at hand.

As an example when a person asks “Do you enjoy adult beverages?” a chunked up response would be “There are many adult pleasures I enjoy.” Here, “beverages” is a subset of “pleasures”.

Another example : Statement: “I'll go with you if you promise to control yourself.” Response “I have no intention of controlling how much I enjoy myself.” Here “control” is a subset of “Enjoyment”.

8. Always allude to the mysterious

This can be done by doing the opposite of name dropping. Refer to a very skilled person you learned from who doesn't normally take students. Mention an arcane text that describes a mysterious process you went through. Mention it took you ten years of study to read between the lines and find the real meaning to the work.

9. God-Like Confidence

Here is where the work of Blair Warren in “The Worlds Greatest Cult” really comes in handy. He describes what's called “The God Complex” which encompasses many of the concepts discussed here.

The God Complex is a great example of “chunking up” because it's about seeing EVERYTHING that can possibly happen as if it's all part of the plan and being okay with it.

The God Complex is about having such a larger view of the world and your place in it so that what you are doing, this very moment , regardless of what transpires will be as if it was meant to you be.

The bottom line is that people are going to judge and criticize you; you'll have deal with money and security issues; relationships will change... no matter what. The God Complex includes all of that in a philosophy that allows you to deal with it in a healthy perspective.

10. Appeal to peoples needs and wants

A deep understanding about what people truly respond to is vital if you want to influence anyone. Each individual has their own wants and needs that you have keep in the forefront of your mind.

Good NLP training will help you with that.

People will also respond to the same basic needs being fulfilled; the need to be needed, the need for hope in a tough time, the need to feel in control, the need blame something else for their troubles, the need to learn about something they don't know or not supposed to know.

Conclusion

The desire for a cult-like following has many benefits and many responsibilities. The hardest of the responsibilities is simply living up to what you are presenting to people. For that reason I always recommend that you live what you teach.

"No other man but I in the recorded History of
mankind, including JESUS CHRIST, has directly
revealed to the World the SATANIC WEAPON used to

Matthew 22:36-38

"36 'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' 37 Jesus replied: ' 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment."

Romans 12:1-2

"1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Folks, YOU make the determinations and judgements in your life. You use your mind to do this. It is How and What you think With your mind that determines your behavior.

Don't be "SCHNOOKERED" into Cognitive Distortions.

The Role of Cognitive Distortion

From Captive Hearts: Captive Minds by Madeleine Tobias and Janja Lalich, Hunter House, 1994; 101-103

Proponents of cognitive therapy, based on the work of Aaron Beck and others, believe that by changing the way we think we can have a profound effect on the way we feel.(6) In Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy, David Burns outlines 10 common mistakes in thinking, which he calls cognitive distortions.(7) These distortions are explained here in the context of post cult recovery.
1. All-or-nothing thinking: Cults teach black-and-white thinking, such as “Everyone outside the group is controlled by Satan or is evil,” “The leader is God and cannot make mistakes,” “You must always strive for perfection in order to reach the group’s goal.” Such thinking stifles personal growth and keeps a person pitted against the rest of the world.
2. Over generalization: Simply making one mistake can cause a person to leap to the conclusion that the group’s predictions about dire consequences for those who leave are indeed coming true. Former members often have difficulty allowing themselves to make mistakes without hearing criticisms in their head. Reviewing actions at the end of the day, no matter how simple, can help counterbalance the internal cult “chatter.”
3. Mental filter: cults teach people to dwell on their mistakes and weaknesses. In many cults each day’s activities are reviewed, with concentration placed on any “sins” or wrongdoing. All thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are cause for criticism, prayer, and repenting. After such training, a person may obsess about a small mistake and lose sight of the positive things that are happening. Anything negative becomes a focus that filters out everything else.
4. Disqualifying the positive: One means of cult control is to not allow members to take pride in their achievements. All that is good comes from the Master, while members are made to feel stupid and inadequate. Making lists of personal strengths and accomplishments may counteract this reaction.
5. Jumping to conclusions: There are two forms of coming to a negative conclusion, which are probably familiar to ex-members:

(a) Mind reading: Those who were in New Age or Eastern cults may have been led to believe that mind reading is real. This belief is used to make assumptions about others. Doing the same now may be counterproductive. Don’t jump to conclusions about another person’s actions or attitudes. Don’t substitute assumptions for real communication.

(b) Fortune telling: Cults predict the failure of their critics, dissenters, and those who leave. Former members sometimes believe that depression, worry, or illness is sure to hound them (and their family) forever. Remember, such phobias and distortions have nothing to do with reality but have been instilled by the cult.

6. Magnification (catastrophizing) and minimization: Magnifying the members’ faults and weaknesses while minimizing strengths, assets, and talents is common. The opposite holds true for the leader. This trend has to be reversed in order to rebuild self-esteem, although reaching a balanced perspective may take time. Feedback from trustworthy, nonjudgmental friends may be helpful here.
7. Emotional reasoning: In groups that place emphasis on feeling over thinking, members learn to make choices and judge reality solely based on what they feel. This is true of all New Age groups and many transformational and psychology cults. Interpreting reality through feelings is a form of wishful thinking. If it really worked, we would all be wealthy and the world would be a safe and happy place. When this type of thinking turns negative, it can be a shortcut to depression and withdrawal: “I feel bad, worthless, and so on, therefore I am bad, worthless, and so on.”
8. “Should” statements: Cult beliefs and standards often continue to influence behavior in the form of shoulds, musts, have tos, and oughts. These words may be directed at others or at oneself-for example, thinking, “I should get out of bed.” The result is feeling pressured and resentful. Try to identify the source of these internal commands. Do they come from the former cult leader? Do you really want to obey him anymore?
9. Labeling and mislabeling: Ex-members put all kinds of negative labels on themselves for having been involved in a cult: stupid, jerk, sinner, crazy, bad, whore, no good, fool. Labeling oneself a failure for making a mistake (in this case, joining the cult) is mental horsewhipping. It is an overgeneralization, inaccurate, cruel, and, like the other cognitive distortions, untrue and self-defeating. Labeling others in this way is equally inaccurate and judgmental. If there must be labels, how about some positive ones?
10. Personalization: Burns calls this distortion “the mother of guilt.” A primary weapon of mind control is training members to believe that everything bad that happens is their fault. The guilt that accompanies this sort of personalizing is crippling and controlling. You are out of the cult now, so it is important only to take responsibility for what is yours.

These 10 cognitive errors are all habits of thinking that are deeply ingrained by the thought-reform processes and cult indoctrination. Tendencies toward these distortions may have been in place even before a person’s cult involvement, which may have enhanced vulnerability to recruitment and increased susceptibility to the cult’s practices. Given the habit of these kinds of destructive thinking patterns, is it any wonder that former cult members sometimes feel depressed? The good news is, like any habit, these patterns of thinking can be broken and discarded through awareness and practice.

Browns' bash draws about 200

By KRISTEN SENZ
Sunday News Correspondent
Sunday, Jul. 15, 2007

PLAINFIELD – An estimated 200 people turned out for the "Live Free or Die Concert" at the Plainfield home of convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown yesterday. As of early evening, police were calling it a peaceful gathering.

About 100 cars lined one side of the Browns' half-mile driveway by early afternoon. Helicopters circled overhead as new arrivals searched for parking.

At least four musical acts -- Poker Face, Blue Eyed Fools, Paperback Radio, Dave von Kliest and Matt Kazee -- were scheduled to perform at the party, which the Browns promoted on their Web site as featuring "food, drinks and fun."

Plainfield police regulating traffic at the top of the driveway said they would tow any vehicles parked on Center of Town Road.

Plainfield Police Chief Gordon Gillens said a traffic counter he installed Friday on the gravel, dead-end road more than a mile from the Browns' property was stolen sometime between 9 p.m. and midnight.

►Brown standoff tense before concert
►Brown decides property taxes are not worth paying

"We're not happy with that deal, that they stole our counter -- or somebody did," Gillens said. Stealing the $1,500 piece of equipment amounts to a class A felony, he added.

Several of the Browns' supporters videotaped the chief and another officer as they finished installing the traffic counter Friday afternoon.

Brown and his supporters welcomed a New Hampshire Union Leader and Sunday News reporter into their home Friday, but yesterday turned away that same reporter, saying "mainstream media" were unwelcome and that only "alternative media" were allowed on the property.

The Browns continue to demand the federal government show them the law that makes them liable to pay federal income taxes; a law they say does not exist. They have vowed not to serve their five-year prison sentences, and to fight back with deadly force if federal agents try to apprehend them.

U.S. Marshal Steve Monier has said he's determined to resolve the impasse peacefully.

Yesterday, Monier said local police were updating him regularly about the activity at the Browns' house. He would not say whether the helicopters flying above the property contained federal agents.

"I'm not going to get into what kind of resources we have there," he said.

"We have taken steps to ensure that there are adequate resources available to Chief Gillens and his department to preserve public safety."

The live music and partying at the Browns' was scheduled to last until 10 p.m. last night, interspersed with speeches by Ruby Ridge survivor Randy Weaver and others.
YOUR COMMENTS

The voices of UnionLeader.com readers:

The Browns are correct because there really is no law requiring us to pay taxes on our wages. As has already been mentioned this tax is actually a tax that only applies to income. Income is defined as income of a corporation, but is never associated with wages of an individual. The reason for this is that the government is not given the power in the constitution to tax peoples wages. Because the tax is not apportioned through the states by popluation it is therefore a tax that requires some concious action be taken that then required you to pay the tax. In this case that action would be signing a contract with the federal government(becoming a corporation). Additionally it must be something that you could choose not to do and therefore not pay the tax. Working for wages is not something you could choose not to do and still survive so therefore it cannot be taxed this way. THE 16TH AMENDMENT DOES NOT CHANGE THIS. We as tax payers are tricked into providing our SSN or "tax id number" to our employers who are tricked into thinking they are required to have us fill them out. When we fill in our SSN on that form what we are actually doing is basically agreeing that our wages are taxable
- CJ, Austin

Someone mentioned the Browns have been shown Title 26 USC. If you'd bother to READ this law, it is about the rates of taxation and refers to taxable income. Then it provides a definition of taxable income which says this is derived from gross income. Then gross income is not defined in this Title 26 USC anywhere. Now, if you investigate law and case presidence, the term INCOME is not the same as WAGES. INCOME is "profit" or NET GAINS, usually corporate or investment returns in nature. The difference between PROFIT and WAGES is that a worker does not profit from his labor...he is given fair compensation for his labor. Labor has been defined in our laws and case history as our private property which we exchange for monies. This is not INCOME. Additionally, Supreme Court of the USA has rules that 16th Amendment does not give any new powers of taxation. The Browns, like many, were forbidden to present this evidence and experts to show this in their case. Also realize that the idea that you cannot beat the IRS in court is a lie. In those cases where this defense is not *illegally* prevented, the defendant often wins against the IRS. Overall the defendants against the IRS tend to win about 50% of the time. If you are a patriot and believe in our Constitution, you will support the Browns AND Wesley Snipes!
- Ken, WA

Have any of you even read Title 26 of the US tax code or any of the tax code? Do any of you even know where the income tax that is collected is for? Search "Income tax" in google video. The first one you should see is "Theft by Deception: Deciphering the Federal Income Tax". This video is a logical and methodical break down of the US tax code as it pertains to the income tax. You are actually shown the Tax Code and all of its revisions over the last century. That should get you started. Saying Ed Brown is a free loader living off of our taxes is a misnomer. The money collected by the IRS that is our income tax is used to pay off only the debt incurred by the US govt. from borrowing money from the Federal reserve. Basically only interest is payed off. Before any of you start bashing these peaceful protesters how about doing some real research.
- Chris Adams, Indianapolis IN

For everyone here that thinks Ed. is breaking a law, let me remind you the Federal income Tax is a voluntary tax. No laws are broken by not paying it. Get your facts straight.
- Dan, Portland ME

The US Marshal is right to end this peacefully and I neither supoort or condem the Browns actions and wosh not to judge any person. If the govt wants to end this simply dig up the road with a backhoe in front of their driveway, it will stop alot of activity period. Jim
- jim mitchell, rockingham vt

Why have the media ignored United States Code, Title 28, Judiciary, Section 3002(15) which defines the "United States" as a municipal corporation? The United States District Court in Concord is a territorial tribunal created by congress and has only that jurisdiction that congress has delegated to it. Congress has limited this tribunal to "CIVIL JURISDICTION" only. Many observers have studied Title 28 with me and can find NO CRIMINAL JURISDICTION having been delegated by congressional Act to the Concord Tribunal. If anyone can produce such delegation of power, let them do so, for a the Browns have said, "show me the law". Logic and reason dictates that if there is no jurisdiction for the proceedings that have taken place, then Coram non Judice must prevail and dismissal for lack of jurisdiction is demanded. Attention all lawyers and Judges. Honor your OATHS.

Ed has been shown the law, Title 26 USC, numerous times. Ed just believes he is not subject to it, as he claims he is a "free being" ruled only by "natural law" and answerable only to divine authority. Ed is also a welch, as he has not paid the reward he offered for showing him the law, which countless people did. The AG and US Marshalls are wasting taxpayer money at this point. The Browns have been convicted and sentenced. They should be taken into custody and begin serving their sentences.
- Len B, Monroe

I was at the Browns yesterday attending the concert. Their home is not 'fortresslike' as often described. It is a lovely house designed for the view the property offers. The grounds are like a park. Your reporter mentioned the helicopter(s). Think what you might about taxes, what can justify the expense of keeping a helicopter in the air for hours on end, much less buzzing half the citizens of Plainfield? Lloyd Danforth Keene
- Lloyd Danforth, Keene

It doesn't matter what law they show this freeloader - he has an excuse as to why it's not applicable. It's been shown to him numerous times. It's plain as day. He continues to insist on living off of the rest of us. It's not my problem if his wife is too ignorant to realize he had used her all these years...ignorance isn't a crime...he gets to run around in the woods and play army man with his buddies and she supports him. Her choice. The world is full of followers who crave brainwashing and he is bright enough to manipulate these simpletons who follow him. Again, not my problem. Basically, I am just bored with this - let's just drop one of those daisy cutters on the property with or without them present . Doesn't matter to me either way really - is my view the majority or minority in terms of the general populace? Pretty obvious. Tell them we're dropping a bomb and let them decide how to proceed. The daisy cutter is dropped via parachute so he'll have ample opportunity to run out in his yard and shoot at it since that's all he really wants to do anyway. Freeloader boys and their toys.......
- Bob, Plymouth

All of the questions asked here by others can be answered by doing your own research. One question was, "Why doesn't someone show them this law and end this whole thing?" My response is simply, what law is it someone should show them? To my knowledge, the Browns are offering 1 million dollars worth of property to anyone who can show them the law and they allegedly owe about $250,000 in taxes. Why would they do this, and put their lives on the line in the process, if there was a law? Show them the law and reap the reward. The government can't. Ask yourself why former IRS employees like Sherry Peel Jackson, Joe Banister and others have been unable to find the law. Find out what what the OMB Control Number at the top of a 1040 means. As difficult as it seems to be for many of us to believe, there is no law and the 16th Amendment gave no new powers of taxation to the government. If they didn't have the power to tax income from wages before, they don't have it now. Might wish to research where the money goes when you illegally pay income tax -- yes, i said illegally because if you sign a 1040 that you used to report income from wages as a citizen or resident alien working within the continental US, you are breaking the law. And please, if you are in the neighborhood, go and visit them. You'll be welcomed with open arms and you can ask all the questions you want. Best time is on weekdays in the mornings as they are very busy.

I applaud the state's effort for not making this into another Waco or Ruby Ridge. However, these people are rubbing the face of every tax paying, law abiding citizen - and definately making life for Plainfield residents unpleasant. Time to not let anyone in or out. Time to shut off the power and time to throw these nuts in jail
- Cojo, manchester

What a great party. Too bad you guys were not let in. We had a lot of fun. The music was pretty good. The weather was perfect. :)
- Russell Kanning, Keene

First I would like to say I am neither a supporter of the Browns or any other non law abiding citizen...But I believe that I read Mr Browns comment the other day stating that he would pay his back taxes if he were shown the law requiring it. Why doesn't someone show them this law and end this whole thing. I think that the longer it goes on the more people will climb aboard the wacky beliefs of the Browns....When they are shown the law let them pay up, if they dont go in and get them whatever it takes. If it turns to Waco or Ruby Ridge so be it We have laws and they need to be enforced. Not enforcing the law shows that it is ok to not follow them. How much medical care would the money the Browns owe pay for to treat a wounded soldier. A soldier that was wounded protecting their rights to defy our government.
- Steve Robbins, Woodsville

What a waste of taxpayer's money-federal and local. They have probably spent more money watching this guy than he owes the government. What a mockery. Are we using Homeland Security money for this-maybe the feds should spend more money looking for terrorists.
- stephen rowe, rochester

I cannot understand why, even after warrants have been issued, the US Marshals and the Plainfield Police are allowing people on the Browns property. I find it disheartening that the Browns are allowed to make a mockery of the Justice System that we all believe in, and that the US Marshals and the Plainfield Police are helping!!
- Catrina, Manchester

Why are people being allowed on the Brown's property in the first place? It seems to me a full blockade is what's needed if the Brown's are to surrender and end this foolish standoff.
- Jeff Long, Concord NH

Why does US Marshall Monier continue to sit back on his political butt and let the Browns make a mockery of the law? They are convicted felons, in complete defiance of federal law and the federal courts and Monier continues to insist that the matter will be settled peacefully. Apparently the US Marshall is a politician first and a Federal law enforcement officer, last, or not at all.
- Peter Riesenberg, Keene

all i have is one comment, the Browns must be onto something otherwise why has this law not been shown, why has this law not been spread all over the front pages of every local newspaper if it does indeed exist

Truth Attack Hits Illinois State Senator Chris Lauzen

We received this email this morning from Mike Fogelsanger who hails from Sycamore Illinois:

Details of Tom Cryer's trial, and the loss of the I.R.S. on a Income Tax case!

Date: July 15, 2007 8:35 pm (10 hours ago)
From Mike Fogelsanger (mike60178@comcast.net)
To: Illinois State Senator Chris Lauzen & Contacts list
Subject: Details of Tom Cryer's trial, and the loss of the I.R.S. on a Income Tax case!

Chris:

I know you are busy trying to get a buget done for the State, and I understand it is hard work. But I thought you may find the below information interesting, so I have provided it for your review. We have talked about the Income Tax issue for years, and yet here is another case were if the jury can see the evidence they tend to find the defendant not guilty! Since you have seen Arron Russo's movie America;Freedom To Fascism you already know much of this information. But we have several cases now to look at, Tom Cryer, Joe Banister (former I.R.S. agent), Vernice Kuglin, and here in Illinois Gaylon Harrel all found NOT GUILTY on Income Tax cases. So there must be some doubt about the Tax code and who it applies to.

I hope you will start asking the questions that need to be asked, because when we ask them they are simply ignored. We need to know can you SHOW ME THE LAW that makes us liable for the Federal Income Tax? If not, the Illinois State bubget will have more problems. Because the Illinois State Income Tax clearly requires that you must be liable for Federal Income Tax in order to be liable for the State Income Tax. So if there is no clear liability then there is no obligation to pay either Tax!

Senator Lauzen I believe the Illinois Department of Revenue, and the I.R.S. are using Deception, Fraud, and Intimidation to collect taxes from citizens who do not owe them. In a free Country that should make you very uncomfortable.

Dear Fellow Truth Troopers,

Early reports have been spreading, circulating around the tax honesty community that Shreveport, Louisiana lawyer, Tommy K. Cryer has been found NOT GUILTY of 'willful failure to file' charges by a 12-0 jury verdict in the Federal District Court for Western Louisiana, in Shreveport, LA. My friend it's TRUE and what follows is a summary of the trial leading up to the emotionally inspiring verdict including exclusive quotes courtesy of Mr. Tommy Cryer.

First, I want to thank each and everyone of you who attended the trial for your unwavering support and peaceful, respectful

nature during every phase of this historical trial where Mr. Cryer, the truth AND the rule of law prevailed today, July 11, 2007 in the United States of America. Truth Attack had approximately 25 Truth Troopers (some from as far away as 1,200 miles!) attending the three-day proceedings topping the historical event off with a "victory for the rule of law" celebration after the unanimous not guilty verdict was read in open court.

Today, July 11, 2007 Mr. Tommy K. Cryer, a lawyer from Shreveport, Louisiana was found not guilty by a 12-0 verdict on two separate counts of violating Title 26 Section 7203, willful failure to file federal income tax returns for the "tax-years" 2000 and 2001 respectively, which carried a two-year prison sentence had the government prevailed.

The trial began July 9. 2007 at 8:30 AM at the United States District Court for Western Louisiana located at 300 Fannin Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. Judge Maurice Hicks presided over the trial, Earl Campbell represented the Internal Revenue Service by and through the U.S. Department of Justice and Mr. Larry Becraft represented Mr. Tommy K. Cryer as lead defense counsel, with Mr. George Harp assisting.

Day One: July 9, 2007
The first order of business was a government Motion To Dismiss two of the total four counts of the government's indictment. Originally, the indictment was brought with two counts of "tax evasion" and two counts of "willful failure to file" a federal income tax return. Mr. Cryer was facing 5 + 5 years in federal prison and with the government dropping its two counts of fede ral income tax evasion, Mr. Cryer's exposure to jail time had been reduced to two years.

After the government's Motion to Dismiss was granted, jury selection took place and the panel of 12 jurors and two alternates were seated and were listening to opening arguments of the parties by 4:00 PM. After opening arguments the Court recessed until 9:00AM Tuesday.

Day Two: July 10, 2007
Day Two started with the government presenting its case in the morning session and Tom taking the stand and offering his direct testimony until the close of yesterday's proceedings...

The government first brought an IRS supervisor to the stand... her testimony established the paperwork flow and indicated that Tommy filed "employer" documentation for his "employee" but did not file his individual returns.

Next was Tommy's secretary... she did not show up as a hostile witness towards the prosecution... but in the same breath, she did not give the government any help when she testified that she fills out all of her own IRS from r equired of the employer, and even writes and signs most of the checks!

The DOJ tried to get in a point in that area... and she said that Tommy gave her the option to file or not-- then he abruptly stopped her... then on another question... she added that it was her choice to file even after she found out that there was no law making he liable-- where of course, he cut her off again.

The CPA took the stand and testified to profit and loss statements related to Tommy's practice of law... he simply established the numbers but never stated with authority to the lawful and legal definition of income... Larry was able to establish that the CPA had only a very insignificant understanding of the IRC.

The government's final witness was an IRS "special agent" in the Criminal Investigation Division who testified to the 'audits' of Tom's business and on Larry's cross-exam made it clear that the 'Code" is enormous and he only knew small bits and pieces of some of it... The IRS used Section 61 of the IRC to prop up its claim of liability to file and pay income taxes... but failed to clarify the first three words of Section 61... which state, "Unless otherwise provided..."

After lunch Tom took the stand... There were some fireworks during Tom's testimony and the judge was clearly aggravated with the rule of law being presented in 'his' courtroom... and several times stopped Tom's testimony. One of those times the judge brought up the "Cheek" ruling where Larry and the judge went around and around on Tom's right to present his beliefs to the jury. The judge overruled and objection of the prosecutor on another occasion but also warned Larry about the "very narrow" path he's taking the case and will not allow Tom to argue that the IRS is unconstitutional... which of course Tom never intended to do and has not done in the least.

Day Two ended with the judge calling counsel into the judge's chamber and unload ing... venting his frustration mainly aimed at Larry and Tom taking over the courtroom and plowing ahead with getting the Internal Revenue Code... the Code of Federal Regulations the Constitution and a plethora of Supreme Court cases in front of the jury. At the close of the preceding day’s hearing... the judge ordered Larry to turn over Tom's notes and research to the DOJ as the court believed that

Tom's notebook filled with law and supporting Supreme Court cases was "discovery" and therefore the DOJ was entitled to it, which is a crucial turning point that must be noted. Larry agreed with the court and the defense team looked forward to seeing more of it in the record and presented to the jury during cross-examination of Tom's beliefs.

The U.S. Department of Justice walked out of "Day Two" with years of Tommy Cryer's research that was condensed into a very well organized presentation, which proved that not only did Mr. Cryer believe what he had researc hed, but also proof that there is no law making him liable for any federal income tax on his right to earn a living.

Day three promises to be very interesting! The parties will meet prior to the start to discuss jury instructions before the jury is brought in and seated. The DOJ opens day three with cross-examination and Larry's re-direct may well occur before noon and closing arguments will surely take place before the close of today's proceedings...

Day Three: July 11
Tommy Cryer was seated at the witness stand and the U.S. Attorney opened his cross examination of Mr. Cryer with a series of questions establishing the fact pattern aimed at 'proving' that Mr. Cryer had 'income' and earned 'income' in the course of practicing law. Mr. Cryer had no effort to deny that he earned fees in exchange for his labor.

The line of questioning turned to finer points of the Internal Revenue Code related to Sections addressing the 'tax imposed' one 'in come' from whatever source derived. Listening very carefully Mr. Cryer addressed the spin on commonly used terms and pointed out that certain terms in the law had application of strict construction as ruled consistently by the U.S. Supreme Court. An argument of sorts ensued between the U.S. Attorney and Mr. Cryer on these finer points and ultimately the judge stopped the exchange and commented that the court reporter was having difficulty making the record.

Stepping back, the U. S. Attorney turned to Mr. Cryer and engaged a line of questions that addressed two U.S. Court of Appeals cases and asked Mr. Cryer if he had any occasion to read the rulings in those cases. Mr. Cryer explained to the jury that one of the cases the U.S. Attorney quoted was in the form of a footnote, and the other had nothing to do with a 'willful failure to file' action to which was the matter before this court.

T he U.S. Attorney read into the record the 'footnote' of the first case he had asked Mr. Cryer about, and Mr. Cryer leaned forward and noted for the record and the jury that the full statement the Court of Appeals issued in its footnote clearly stated that neither party briefed the issue on appeal and it had no bearing on the opinion of the Court.

It should be noted that (with Mr. Cryer's trial notes in hand) at this point the U.S. Government (the IRS and the DOJ) did not make any effort to contest any of the content of Mr. Cryer's testimonial notebook, which was organized in such a fashion that anyone with experience in legal research could follow the line of reasoning that Mr. Cryer had used in order to arrive at his heartfelt beliefs.

The U.S. Attorney held up Mr. Cryer's 108-page Memorandum and cited one phrase coined from a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that pointed out... that the incom e tax (Internal Revenue Code) is unconstitutional--expecting a "yes" or "no" answer.

Mr. Cryer kindly directed the U.S. Attorney back to the Memorandum and stated that HE didn't say that the Internal Revenue Code was unconstitutional... but that the U.S. Supreme Court had held that AS APPLIED the income tax WOULD BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

"No further questions your Honor."

Mr. Becraft approached Mr. Cryer and addressed each of the government's efforts to derail Mr. Cryer's beliefs. One after one, the defense closed each open gate espousing the government's contentions and ended the re-direct with Mr. Cryer confidently stating that he swore an oath to defend the rule of law and he had no other option when it came to his beliefs, which are today as they were yesterday and as they will be tomorrow, "There is NO LAW making me liable for the federal income tax."

Counsel delivered closing arguments with the government addressing the jury first and reserving time for rebuttal. The U.S. Attorney stressed his argument that there is a law and the law made Mr. Cryer Liable for the federal income tax system. Asking the jury to rule our willfulness and in due turn, convict Mr. Cryer of breaking the law and seeing to it that Mr. Cryer is found guilty of failing to do his duty of filing federal income taxes.

Mr. Becraft started his closing arguments by informing the jury that "today in this court room…" there are, in a sense, four branches of the United States Government. Mr. Becraft pointed to the federal law books and said that those books were written and the laws forged by the legislative branch of our government, Congress.

He continued by giving generous praise to the U.S. Attorney for doing a fine job representing the Executive branch of the federal governm ent in the courtroom. Mr. Becraft gestured to the judge and remarked that the judicial branch of the government presided over this proceeding making certain that justice and the rule of law remained intact according to our Constitution.

Then, Mr. Becraft turned to the jury and said the fourth branch is the jury… the American people that our founding fathers believed to be the ultimate deciding factor as to whether justice is done.

Mr. Becraft’s eloquent summation of the jury’s duty to weigh the facts in this case were so very vital to this ensuring that our system of justice moved forward intact and secure. Mr. Becraft reviewed the flow of testimony reminding the jury that nowhere during this trial did Mr. Cryer deny or object the government as to advancing its intention to show that he had earnings.

He went on to say that the issue in this case is Mr. Cryer’s beliefs and the fact pattern that Mr. Cryer used as he presented his beliefs were so convincingly delivered that even if they did not fully understand the legal interpretations testified to, Mr. Cryer undoubtedly believed those conclusions.

The Judge Hicks recessed for a break and upon return read the jury instructions and the jury retired to the jury room. After a little more than two hours of deliberation the judge called the parties into the courtroom. There was a question as to jury instruction 17, which centered on reasonable doubt and to willfulness. The court reviewed the various jury instructions referencing those terms and after about 30 minutes of discussions and the approval of the parties, the court delivered a clarification to the jury.

By this time it was 4:30PM and the judge asked the jury if they wanted to recess for the day or continue? The reply was they wished to stay a little longer to deliberate. The judge informed the parties and the courtroom was cleared. Together, Mr. Cryer’s legal team and supporters returned to the first floor waiting area of the courthouse.

At 4:33PM the U.S. Marshal summonsed Mr. Becraft and company and announced that the jury had reached a verdict. Approximately at 4:35PM the jury returned to the courtroom and the customary tradition of the passing of the verdict to the judge for entry into the record and reading of it in open court took place.

Unanimously, NOT GUILTY.

PS. I personally spoke with Senator Chris Lauzen after he saw Aaron Russo's movie, America: Freedom To Fascism (AFTF) in St. Charles Illinois on March 18, 2006. Mike Fogelsanger - who has been in contact with Senator Lauzen on this issue for many years - shamed Senator Lauzen to go to St. Charles that day and we have eye witnesses who indeed saw him there in the audience. After the March 18th screening of AFTF I sent out an email in response to a confrontational email that Mike had sent to Senator Lauzen in which could have been construed as questioning his integrity. Senator Lauzen was infuriated with my email and personally called me and screamed at me over the phone. After Chris' emotions calmed down I was able to talk to him about the need to get to the bottom of this issue for if we don't our entire country is at risk because you cannot build anything on a foundation rooted in fraud and corruption. Chris said he is willing to remain open about this issue. He said he looked into the ratification of the 16th ammendment to the Constitution and felt that it was done properly and that was about all he seemed to be interested in from a research and follow-up standpoint. He's a passionate guy who has got the ear and respect of his constituents, but on this issue he continues to do a masterful job of dodging, weaving and ducking.
