Granny Warriors

at the SC Debate

It has been a long long week for us all. We had much to do and not many to get it done but we managed with a lot of team work to pull it all together and made the Debates in fine shape. The work on the War Wagon looked for a while like it would never get done with the weather not co operating and me being so lazy and slow. The week end proved to be a beautiful two days full of sun and no wind so there were no excuses left. The War Wagon was finished.

I finally got to ride instead of drive which was such a pleasure. Jay one of the NC supporters ( the DVD guy) came to our home and we left from there. I automaticly took the drivers seat on the way down the mountain which I dread driving as it is very narrow, no shoulders and lots of up, downs and curves. At the bottom of the mountain Jay pops up and tells me he is a truck driver and will drive if I want..( I may have scared that admission out of him on that trip down the mountain) We had to gas up so from there on he drove. What a pleasure to get to watch the scenery and people go by. It is always fun in the War Wagon as people will be blowing their horns and waving either the v sign or that one fingered salute we get sometimes..

Jay was a wonderful driver, even parallel parked that thing in a space for 2 cars at the capitol even after I told him it would never work. It Did.. Just goes to show as you get older you lose faith in small spaces.

We picked up Bette and Scott on the way, Bill Steidmeyer ( from S. Dakota) also joined in the caravan. We had a great drive. We spent the night at Wallmart and left the next morning very early to get our parking space. Right in front of the Capitol Bldg. We were not allowed to park on the property but were allowed to set up a canopy and hand out our info there and Mrs. Norfleet called and told us she remembered us from the last time we were there and would make a exception ( I think she is a Ron Paul Supporter) and allow us to pull on the sidewalk at the capitol after 5 PM. until when ever we wanted to leave. It worked out great. We had the RV on one side of the street and the canopy on the other both showing support for Dr. Paul.

Getting set up was easy, lots of helping hands along with Steve (thesignguysaysso) a full time activist who came in with his truck ready to go with built in media center, palm tree umbrellas and of course T shirts and his own exceptional personality. You can find him on his website www.thesignguysaysso.com and watch some of his activities. He was fantastic.

Steve was encouraged to do his "911 WAS AN INSIDE JOB" yell for Dr. Paul who at first looked rather startled then grinned and said but "We did have an investigation on that.. Oh yeah but the investigation was by our own government" with a twinkle in his eyes.

The rally was great, lots of people but we were almost overwhelmed by the Fair Tax people, but we did get lots of signs from them, Many were Paul supporters also.

Those fellows on the right in red shirts, notice the toilet with the body in it? That was supposed to be McCain.

We had Peace Activists and a reporter all at the same time. We also gained some more signs ( the nice professionally made yellow ones with the red stop sign on it)

Our own DVD guy ( Jay) got his photo with both Dr. No and the Wife or our soon to be first lady, Carol Paul nicknamed Lovey.

Dr. Paul talking to a supporter who just couldn't make it to the rally. He was such a pleasant man.

The Grannys and Dr. Paul / a supporter?

The Abate bike group represented here.

Dr. Paul and 4 of his Grandaughters

This soldier is home on leave and will be deployed back to Iraq in a few days but he got some support from Dr. Paul and from the look on his face appreciated knowing at least one politician supports the troops.

Scott Mullen ( NC Co Ordinator for Ron Paul) plastered his cars trunk with signs as did the Signguysaysso in his rolling media center ( black truck with umbrellas)

The telling photos of the day. Talk about worn out ! Scott crashed as soon as he hit the RV and never even knew we were messing with him with a monkey.. Steve the Signguysaysso just flopped on his face and was gone. We are all still beat. but Happy with the results of the Rally.

As usual we need help keeping this rig on the road. We should be in Va on the first and then back to NC for the convention on the 5th and then to NH for their debates. This will take a big chunk of money just for the fuel. Please if you think we are doing a good job and helping to get Ron Paul on the ballot send a few dollars.. Hell send a lot of dollars. As we have always said. All money will be for fuel and maintenance only. We supply our own personal needs, donate our time and our RV.
